This daily newsletter provides an overview of the natural disasters that happened in the last 24 hours and response measures for ongoing disasters. GDACS currently covers earthquakes, tsunamis, tropical cyclones, volcanic eruptions and floods. The color coding (red, orange, green) is related to the estimated humanitarian impact of the event.

Cerca de 51 familias (mas de 200 personas) permanecen desplazadas en el casco urbano de Guapi. I. PRIORIDADES/PUNTOS DESTACADOS Cerca de 51 familias (mas de 200 personas) permanecen desplazadas en el casco urbano de Guapi. Treinta familias (aproximadamente 150 personas) retornaron a la comunidad de Playa Cuerval (Timbiqui) entre el 21 y el 22 de diciembre. Se reportan necesidades en educacion en emergencias y proteccion para los ninos y ninas en situacion de desplazamiento y para los que retornaron. Antecedentes Debido a enfrentamientos entre las FARC y un grupo armado post-desmovilizacion (Los Rastrojos) en territorio del Consejo Comunitario de Comunidades Negras de Cuerval (Timbiqui). Desde el 8 de diciembre 347 personas (82 familias) habitantes de la comunidad Playa Cuerval, se vieron obligadas a desplazarse hacia el casco urbano de Guapi (Cauca). Actualizacion Aproximadamente 30 familias retornaron entre el 21 y el 22 de diciembre, despues de que la Armada ofrecio una presencia semipermanente en las inmediaciones de la comunidad de Cuerval. La poblacion restante (aproximadamente 51 familias) permanece desplazada en el casco urbano de Guapi en donde se ha dispersado para albergarse en casas de familiares y amigos. El 22 de diciembre, el equipo de Educacion en Emergencias del Consejo Noruego para Refugiados (NRC) realizo una mision de evaluacion de necesidades de la poblacion desplazada en Guapi.
