Global Disaster Alert and Coordination System — Newsletter 11/2/2011
This daily newsletter provides an overview of the natural disasters that happened in the last 24 hours and response measures for ongoing disasters. GDACS currently covers earthquakes, tsunamis, tropical cyclones, volcanic eruptions and floods. The color coding (red, orange, green) is related to the estimated humanitarian impact of the event.

Si este comportamiento continua agudizandose, en las proximas decadas, los paises de la region - particularmente America Central, la Region Andina y el Caribe, estaran expuestas a precipitaciones mas fuertes y sequias mas severas. En Haiti, las tormentas de 2008, el terremoto de 2010, los danos del Huracan Tomas en 2010 y la epidemia de colera han afectado la produccion agricola. Los precios de los productos nacionales e importados estan en aumento y cerca de 3 millones de personas padecen inseguridad alimentaria; alrededor de 900,000 viven en pobreza o pobreza extrema en la capital, Puerto Principe. En Guatemala, los afectados por inundaciones, sismos, deslizamientos y derrumbes son unas 228,800 personas ii en 2011. En septiembre, se registraron mas de 200 incidentes, en varios niveles de afectacion, 80 de los cuales afectaron directamente en el departamento de Santa Rosa, debido a la actividad sismica reciente. |

Overview of Flood Waters over Phra Nakhon Si Ayudhya Province, Thailand UNOSAT 1 Nov 2011 6:53:43 PM This map presents the standing flood waters over Nakhon Si Ayudhya Province, Thailand based on analysis of satellite data recorded 30 October 2011. A preliminary analysis show extensive flooding over the provinces of Phra Nakhon Si Ayudhya, Lobpuri, Saraburi, Singburi and Ang Thong. This analysis has not yet been validated in the field.
