Global Disaster Alert and Coordination System — Newsletter 15/07/2014

This daily newsletter provides an overview of the natural disasters that happened in the last 24 hours and response measures for ongoing disasters. GDACS currently covers earthquakes, tsunamis, tropical cyclones, volcanic eruptions and floods. The color coding (red, orange, green) is related to the estimated humanitarian impact of the event.

	Red alert for tropical cyclone RAMMASUN-14. Population affected by Category 1 (120 km/h) wind speeds or higher is 43.7 million.
	From 14/07/2014 to 15/07/2014, a Hurricane/Typhoon > 74 mph (maximum wind speed of 167 km/h) RAMMASUN-14 was active in NWPacific. The cyclone affects these countries: China, Viet Nam, Philippines (vulnerability High). Estimated population affected by category 1 (120 km/h) wind speeds or higher is 43.7 million.

	Green flood alert in Thailand
	On 11/07/2014, a flood started in Thailand, lasting until 14/07/2014 (last update). The flood caused 0 killed and 500 displaced .

	Green flood alert in New Zealand
	On 05/07/2014, a flood started in New Zealand, lasting until 14/07/2014 (last update). The flood caused 0 killed and 0 displaced .

	Green flood alert in Sudan
