Global Disaster Alert and Coordination System — Newsletter 29/03/2014
This daily newsletter provides an overview of the natural disasters that happened in the last 24 hours and response measures for ongoing disasters. GDACS currently covers earthquakes, tsunamis, tropical cyclones, volcanic eruptions and floods. The color coding (red, orange, green) is related to the estimated humanitarian impact of the event.

Global Floods Partnership: Survey on how to build a better flood record
The Global Flood Partnership, recently kicked off from the GDACS sponsored Global Flood Working Group, is leading the way in producing a global flood record to collate and catalogue records of floods to a consistent and coherent standard. While it is unlikely that the needs of every user can be met, we invite potential users of the flood record to have a say in how they would prefer information on floods to be recorded.
