GDACS News

GDACS will stop using EMSC information until further notice

EMSC briefly published a wrong solution for the Russian earthquake effectively locating it in France. GDACS picked up this information, but was not able to automatically correct after EMSC removed the wrong location. This is the second time in one week that EMSC published wrong locations, both in France. To avoid future false alerts, GDACS will stop using EMSC information until a better mechanism is in place.
